Charles Banks Wilson (1918-2013)

In Hunt, the title is Painting Her Son.
The entry reads, ''Here a woman helps her son prepared for a dance. He wears an old style bustle with ''magic'' feathers attached to the cloth hanging from his belt. Although such articles may have lost their original significance, they still form an important part of the traditional dress of the modern dancer.'' Wilson explains artwork, ''Watching the metamorphosis of dancers as face paint was applied or costumes assembled made me feel at times that I was a visitor from another planet. A war bonnet, for example, could change someone who considered himself a nobody into royalty, with direct ties to the great chief of the past.''
The sheet is unframed.
