217: AN INTERESTING BISON HIDE PARFLECHE KNIFE SHEATH

The large knife sheath constructed using brass-centered copper rivets retains traces of paint that indicate the sheath was made from a repurposed parfleche object, the hide has all the characteristics of bison. The knife fits in a way that suggests it could be original to the sheath.
Knife measures 12.5 inches long and the sheath is 12.25 x 4.75 inches.
Good condition, no excessive wear or abuse, no major damage or repair.
Provenance: The estate of a Wyoming collector.
