Hand-written message verso reads: 'This painting present a lovely, little, Tularosa pitcher from South-Western New Mexico, circa A.D. 1200-1300.
The Pre-Columbian, Tularosa Potters, masters of design and craftsmanship, were neighbors and contemporaries of the ingenious Mimbres potters.
Tularosa potters are well-known for their zoomorphic ceramics, done usually via the form of canteens and pitchers.
According to modern Hopi the interlocked spiral figure will represent 'Friendship' as well as 'Migration.'
Board measures 10 x 8 with a framed size of 15.75 x 13.75 inches.
Very good original untouched condition. There are no issues of major scratches, losses, repairs, in-painting or touch-up.
