José María de Servín was born in 1917 in Michigan and relocated with his family to Guadalajara, Mexico, when he was just a few months old. In the early 1930s, Servín joined the Young Painters of Jalisco, a distinctive modernist collective in western Mexico and his style evolved to blend modernist abstraction, drawing influence from Picasso and Cubism and blending it with folk motifs and a naive aesthetic. like the work being offered here.
Board measures 27.75 x 21.25 with a framed size of 32.25 x 26 inches.
Very good original untouched condition. There are no issues of major scratches, losses, repairs, in-painting or touch-up.
