115A: STERLING SILVER BOX WITH A CARVED JADE MEDALLION

A Mid-Century sterling silver box by Andrew A. Taylor silversmith with a rectangular white and green jade medallion on top. Low relief carving on the jade depicts two facing dragons. The box is marked under the base, dedication in the lid reads 'Presented to Roger C. Hyatt By His Associates of Valley Mould and Iron Corporation May 3 1957', a divided wooden compartment lines the inside. Measures 2.75 x 7.5 x 3.25 inches, jade medallion measures 2 x 2.25 inches, weighs 18 ozt.
Natural fissures in the jade, very good overall.
