An ebony octant, the gradation arc and index arm inlaid with etched bone or ivory, inlaid plaque scrimmed 'Bradford 99 Minories, London.' Overall measurements 12 x 9.5 x 3.25 inches, in 12 x 12.5 x 4 inch wooden case, with ornate escutcheon around the lock, paper label in the case reads Duren & Medinger.

Missing an inlay from the reverse side of one beam, minor even oxidation to the fittings etc, sign of age and use overall, good condition overall and free from major damage or wear.
