26: A PAIR QUARTERSAWN OAK WINGED GRIFFIN ARM CHAIRS

Two quartersawn oak arm chairs crowned with paired winged griffins around central crest, circa 1900. Griffins carved in deep relief, along with egg and dart motifs and imagery of vine leaves. Fluted legs and feet and fluted columns supporting arms. Recently reupholstered in high quality black leather with large brass tacks. Measures 46 x 25 x 21 inches. Very good restored condition.
