37: AN UNUSUAL GLOBE-WERNICKE STACKING BOOKCASE

A good circa 1900 Globe-Wernicke Co. ribbon-stripe mahogany stacking bookcase with four shelves over step-out base with drawer . All original finish, tags and hardware, topped with applied carving and dentil molding over reeded columns. Each shelf stack includes original beveled glass door, bottom stack has large serpentine drawer bounded by applied carving. Two 8.5-inch shelves, two 10.5-inch shelves. Measures 60 x 35.5 x 14.75 inches. Some alligatoring on finish and few scratches, otherwise very good original condition.
