43: A HIGHLY CARVED ITALIANATE MARBLE TOP SIDE TABLE

A circa 1920s walnut stain side table, topped with black and cream-veined marble and decorated in cherubs, acanthus leaves, roses and other floral motifs. Cherubs seated on c-scrolls support top carved corners beneath acanthus columns, with sprays of feathers and flowers expanding outward to meet as an elaborately carved skirt. C-scroll supports meet below the middle of the table to hold up a small bouquet finial. All original finish and marble. Measures 29 x 28 x 22 inches. Some small scratches and nicks, otherwise very good original condition.
