162: A GRIFFIN CARVED MAHOGANY LIBRARY TABLE ATTR HUNZI

Circa 1890s cherry and mahogany library desk attributed to Hunzinger or Merklen Brothers. Solid crotch-grain cherry wood top with rope-twist molding on skirt and round drop finials on corners. Open rope-twist mahogany legs, with winged griffin shelf supports for raised shelf over rope-twist stretchers. Brass-and-wood eagle claw feet. Measures 28.5 x 38 x 24 inches. Some scratches and dents on top, otherwise in good restored condition.
