1: RARE CUT GLASS PULLMAN CO ADVERTISING CIRCA 1890

The rectangular glass panel was created by fusing two layers of glass (ruby-colored glass over clear) and cutting back the letters 'BUILT BY THE PULLMAN COMPANY PULLMAN, ILL.' by acid cutting technique to create a ruby-cut-to-clear sign that could be back lit or installed in the outside wall of a rail car, like a stained glass window, and illuminated by natural light.

The glass plate is displayed in what could be the period frame on later wood case.
Measures 7 x 43 x 5.75 inches.
Very good condition. There are no chips, cracks, repairs, scratches or areas of heavy wear.
