251: A HAND MADE MID 20TH CENT. NW PERSIAN HERIZ CARPET

A good Northwest Persian Heriz carpet, the brick red field with floating navy blue medallion centered by a smaller cornflower blue medallion is bracketed by ivory corners having angular spandrels of red enclosing serrated leaves; two tan guard borders with continuous flower heads frame the wide red ground border with herati design. The fields are all filled with angular all-over designs.
Measures 146 x 108 inches.
Very fine condition. Clean and odor free with intact pile, sides and ends, no damage, repair, mothing or stain.
