Late 19th century, the headboard having triangular pediment centered with Neoclassical gilt bronze mounts of winged lions above a molded edge supporting gilt acorn finials flanked by freestanding cylindrical posts, the paneled foot-board of conforming design with gilt-metal mount of chariot scene, rails applied on all sides with gilt-bronze mounts of palmettes and stars, the whole raised on four toupie feet. Measures 58 x 81 x 62.5 inches. This lot was originally offered without reserve in our July 8, 2016 auction. The buyer, a Manhattan auction house owner and television show furniture appraiser, never paid for his purchases. As a result, this property from the Joseph Candioto Trust is being offered again without reserve.
