146: AN EARLY 20TH C. LOUIS XVI STYLE MAHOGANY BERGERE

First half 20th century, the triple padded backrest surmounted by a gilt berried laurel and cabochon cresting continuing to shaped wings with a molded frame, padded armrests and scrolled molded stiles, gilt beaded trim to seat rail, raised on stop fluted tapering legs headed by gilt rosettes and ending in stiff leaf sabots. Upholstered in cream damask. Measures 41 x 26.5 x 29 inches. This lot was originally offered without reserve in our July 8, 2016 auction. The buyer, a Manhattan auction house owner and television show furniture appraiser, never paid for his purchases. As a result, this property from the Joseph Candioto Trust is being offered again without reserve.
