AN EXCEPTIONAL 19TH C. FRENCH PORCELAIN URN 24-INCHES

157: AN EXCEPTIONAL 19TH C. FRENCH PORCELAIN URN 24-INCHES

A large baluster form body with gold decoration of French heraldry and an order of the Holy Spirit medal design in gold on cobalt ground, the body mounted with heavy scrolling bronze handles and bronze foliate mount under the rounded base, bronze mounted square porcelain foot. Two-piece construction, the vase stands and revolves on a brass spindle mounted to the base. The cover is a perfect fit in regard to size, though the interlaced 'L' mark inside the cover differs from the crossed arrow marking under the base. The total height is 24 inches and width 11.75 inches across the handles. This lot was originally offered without reserve in our July 8, 2016 auction. The buyer, a Manhattan auction house owner and television show furniture appraiser, never paid for his purchases. As a result, this property from the Joseph Candioto Trust is being offered again without reserve.
Very good condition. There are no chips, cracks, repairs, scratches or wear. No restoration.
