160: A 19THC. FRENCH LOUIS XV MARBLE CLOCK WITH BRONZE

A large and impressive red griotte marble clock mounted with finely cast and stippled dore' bronze. The urn surmount tipped by an acanthus bud and draped in swags of fine bronze laurel, over the dial with hand painted roman numeral chapter ring, saw pierced foliate gilt hands, laurel wreath bezel, the downswept marble case adorned with finely cast ormolu foliate and laurel swags, the conforming base with a frieze of anthemion. Signed Raingo Freres on the enamel dial. Measures 25.5 x 21.5 x 8.5 inches.
Considerable breaks and repairs at the underside of the urn surmount, repairs to the marble case. Good running order at the time of examination. We cannot guarantee the running condition of time pieces.
