353: A GRAND TOUR BRONZE SCULPTURE OF WINGED VICTORY

(Late 19th Century.)
The 19th century Italian bronze sculpture of Winged Victory is modeled after the 2nd century antique in fine cast detail and displays a handsome verdigris patina while standing on a veined black marble orb atop a sienna marble plinth.
Measures 28 x 8 x 19.25 inches.
Very good condition throughout, no damage, repair or heavy wear.
Provenance: The collection of Josephine Bird Hall (1888-1948) by descent to her son, the present owner. Josephine's father was a founder of Kansas City's Emery, Bird, Thayer Department Store.
