397: A CLEAR AND FROSTED ART GLASS VASE SIGNED R. LALIQUE

The French art glass vase with birds and berries among woody stems in high relief is signed R. LALIQUE FRANCE No. 986 in wheel engraved block letters.
Measures 5.75 x 6.25 inches.
Very good condition. There are no chips, cracks, repairs, scratches or areas of heavy wear. There are lines in the base that are related to the manufacturing process. These are what are sometimes referred to as straw marks in the glass, random lines, one in an abrupt U shape that occur during the manufacturing process. These are not cracks.
Provenance: The collection of Josephine Bird Hall (1888 - 1948) by descent to her son, the present owner. Josephine's father was a founder of Kansas City's Emery, Bird, Thayer Department Store.
