501: CONTINENTAL SILVER BOXES WITH FIGURES IN HIGH RELIEF

1. The larger rectangular box i chased in high relief with a repoussé scene after Rembrandt's painting The Night Watch, the base is stamped with Dutch hallmark for 830 silver.

2. A small oval trinket or ring box with figural swan cover and hallmarks on the base along with a stamp of 800.
Measures 3 x 6.25 x 4.25 and 2 x 2.5 x 2.5 inches. Total weight is 21.37 ozt.
Very good condition, noting the family name engraved underside of the larger box.
Provenance: The collection of Josephine Bird Hall (1888 - 1948) by descent to her son, the present owner. Josephine's father was a founder of Kansas City's Emery, Bird, Thayer Department Store.
