80: A FINE 19TH C. CARVED AND GESSOED LOUIS XVI STAND

The three-sided top with gadrooned edge and laurel motif and three supports with scrolling necks joined by swags of garland, the uprights centrally joined by a mid-range bracket supporting a figural carved torch, the three uprights terminating on a base with concave sides raised on bun feet. The surface is rubbed back to a reddish red clay bole under the gilding typical of earlier examples.
Measures 61 x 22.5 x 20 inches.
Very good original condition, there are no issues of damage or repair, light wear overall.
