5: AN UNUSUAL PAIR SMALL HAND TOOLED BAGS STAMPED SHIPLEY

Each bag with flap closure and 'hand carved' decoration, as its called in the Shipley catalog on a similar though much larger pair, covers each half which are joined by leather lacing. The flap, secured by a strap with buckle and brass snap, lifts to reveal the maker's stamp.
Measures 29 x 5.75 inches.
Very good original condition, there are no issues of damage or repair, light wear at some edges.
