45: KANSAS CITY CONVENTION HALL MEMENTOS CIRCA 1900
Kansas City's Convention Hall burned almost to the ground in April of 1900. It was scheduled to host the Democratic National Convention over July 4 of that same year. In what was dubbed The Kansas City Spirit, a brand new fire proof hall was re-built in 90 days and in time to host the Democratic National Convention.
1. A large oval pocket mirror with celluloid front.
2. A celluloid button (with splits) serving as ONE SHARE OF STOCK.
3. A button picturing the hall in ruins made by Bullard and Moore of Kansas City.
Measures 1.25 and 1.75 x 2.75 inches.
Good with fade, splits, foxing.
