22: A 19TH CENTURY ZUNI PUEBLO POTTERY OLLA WITH RED BASE

The nice, large olla with convex collar above the swollen shoulder is decorated by a band of repeating stylized bird figures in geometric reserves above traditional designs and an unusual base finish in red as opposed to the typical brown slip found on the base of Zuni pots like this good 19th century example with convex base.
Measures 9 x 10 inches.
Good condition as shown with wear and the typical effects of age and use, no major damage or repair.
