47: A COMPLEX 1890s FOLK ART POSTAGE STAMP SCHERENSCHNITTE

The elaborate composition of a Spanish Mission, peacock and butterfly in an exuberant spiraling landscape is composed entirely of clipped United States postage stamps from the 1890s adhered to paper with hide glue. The frame, artwork and backing all date to circa 1900.
Sight size measures 11.5 x 17.5 with a framed size of 15.5 x 21.5 inches.
Apparently the condition is very good, very clean, intact, no visible stain, damage, repair, punctures or tears. This work has not been examined outside the frame.
