188: THE PIED PIPER MECHANICAL PRINT AFTER MAXFIELD PARRISH

Maxfield Frederick Parrish (1870-1966)
The Pied Piper (1909)
The fine and rare example on original mount and in exceptional original colors was printed by the Dodge Publishing Company in 1909 for P.F. Collier.

The image is based on a mural commissioned by the Palace Hotel in San Francisco during reconstruction following the 1906 earthquake, and displayed in a special 'Dream Gardner' frame.

Dream Gardner frames are unique creations of fantasy made by Stephen Hutak. They are painstakingly crafted and finished in colors and techniques inspired by elaborate frame examples found on Maxfield Parrish prints from the 1920s and 1930s.
Image measures 6.5 x 20.75 with a framed size of 14.75 x 28.5 inches.
Exceptional condition, excellent colors without fade, stain, damage or repair. This work is framed to archival standards and displayed behind UV glass to preserve the print's original colors.
