9908: AN IMPRESSIVE 125 PC MOSER 'SPLENDID' CRYSTAL SERVICE

The Splendid pattern was first produced in 1911 and became one of the most popular state service patterns in the Moser collection. Each piece was mouth blown and decorated with hand cut diamond crosshatch cuttings below the etched rim burnished in 24 karat gold. Kings of Spain and Norway commissioned state services, as did presidents and maharajas, as well as Queen Elizabeth II of England.

The expansive set up for bid here is largely marked with the Moser Czechoslovakia era oval acid mark, and or original paper labels. The oval bowl and one carafe are signed Moser Karlsbad on the polished pontil.


The set is comprised of: Twelve 4-inch cordials; six 5.75-inch port wine glasses; eight 8.125-inch champagne flutes; one 7.375-inch champagne flute: two 6-inch highball glasses; thirteen 8.75-inch water goblets; fourteen 7.75-inch red wine glasses; twelve 6.75-inch claret wine glasses; ten 5.75-inch champagne/tall sherbet glasses; eleven 5.125-inch liquor cocktail glasses; a 9-inch pitcher; a 10.5-inch pitcher; a salad bowl measuring 4 x 9.25 inches; twelve 4.75-inch finger bowls; twelve 6.25-inch underplates; an oval bowl measures 5 x 11.75 inches; two 11.75-inch decanters; one 16.25-inch large decanter; three vases measuring 7.75 to 8 inches; three cruets measuring 4.75 to 5 inches; and a stoppered perfume measuring 7 inches.

Very good condition noting small flakes on one red wine glass and one liquor cocktail glass. There are no other chips, cracks, repairs, scratches or areas of heavy wear.
