The slightly abstracted figure, depicted with a buffalo horn headdress and rugged, meticulously tooled exterior, is signed and dated along the base.

Barry Coffin was a Lawrence, Kansas native of Potawatomi and Creek descent. He attended the University of Kansas and later received his Associate of Fine Arts degree from the Institute of American Indian Art, a public tribal land-grant college in Santa Fe, New Mexico. His work is represented by numerous Santa Fe Galleries and held in the permanent collections of a number of museums.
Measures 15 x 5.5 x 5 inches.
Very good condition. There are no chips, cracks, repairs, scratches or areas of heavy wear.
