The unusual oil by this Texas-born painter and printmaker best known for her lithographs and etchings of Southwestern landscapes is signed lower right.

Bertha Landers was founding member of the Printmakers Guild (later Texas Printmakers). She played a key role in advancing opportunities for women artists in the mid-20th century. Educated in Texas, Colorado, and New York, her work blended realism with regional character and is held in major institutions including the Dallas Museum of Art and the National Gallery of Art.
Board measures 18H x 22W inches. No frame.
Good to very good condition, noting minor scattered bits of loss, very minor.
