166: BIRGER SANDZÉN (1871-1954) PENCIL SIGNED BLOCK PRINT
Birger Sandzén (1871-1954)
Saline River (1945)
This block print, signed by the artist in pencil lower right, and titled Saline River lower left, was issued in two states: the first state of 100 prints was titled Republican River. In this second state, or edition, portions of the block were carved away before printing, resulting in more white space in the sky of this version, primarily the right hand side of the sky area. Greenough number 89.
