Marjorie Reed is known for her depictions of western motifs like this picturing stagecoaches traversing dusty trails, cowboys alongside horses, and evocative landscapes of the American west.
Her Butterfield Stage series, completed in 1957, featured similar scenes and gained national attention. Some were included in a book titled The Colorful Overland Stage, which published twenty of her color reproductions.
Her work was exhibited at prominent venues like the Biltmore Salon and Ebell Salon in Los Angeles, as well as the Heard Museum in Phoenix, Desert Inn Gallery in Palm Springs, Palm Desert Art Gallery, and the Rosequist Gallery in Tucson.
Canvas measures 16 x 20 with a framed size of 19.25 x 23.25 inches.
