The crisp, finely rendered image of Yellow-shafted Flickers (Colaptes auratus) is signed and dated lower right front. Each bird, pictured in a fall Missouri Ozarks landscape portrays each bird in meticulous detail and perfect accuracy.
Bernard Martin studied at the Kansas City Art Institute under Thomas Hart Benton. He was a prolific and highly regarded wildlife artist whose work often was seen on the cover of the Missouri Conservationist and Kansas State Fish and Game Commission magazines.
Board measures 16 x 14.25 with a framed size of 23.5 x 21.5 inches.
Very good original untouched condition. There are no issues of major scratches, losses, repairs, in-painting or touch-up.
