187: A LAKOTA WOMAN'S BAG WITH ELK DREAMER MOTIF CIRCA 1885

A Lakota woman's bag with elk dreamer motif, native leather front, trade canvas back, dyed quillwork in two colors, glass bead trim and tufts of yarn.
Measures 12.75 x 8.25 with a 9 inches strap drop.
Good condition, the front with 15 to 20 percent quill loss by area, no bead loss detected, obvious fraying of the canvas in a couple of spots.
Provenance: The estate of a Wyoming collector.
