171: A NORTHERN PLAINS BLANKET WITH BEADED STRIP

The heavy wool cloth blanket with red stroud sawtooth trim is embellished down its center by a hide strip with floating concentric rectangles of lane stitch beading centered by Native tanned leather fringe drops with glass beads, plus three pink and blue stepped diamonds. Circa 1900.
Measures 67.5 x 53.5 inches.
Very good condition, no damage, repair, or bead loss. One circular slightly faded area. Extremely faint storage odor.
