Listed as Plate XXXIX in the artist's catalog raisonné Peter Hurd - The Lithographs (1968). Hurd's comments read: ''I first saw this old man on Main Street in Roswell and engaged him as my model. I don't recall his name, but I do remember two things: that he was a patient sitter and showed not the slightest interest in the finished drawing on the stone.''
