Born in Alva, Oklahoma in 1907, Lester Raymer pursued formal training at the Art Institute of Chicago from 1930 to 1933, studying under the painter Boris Anisfeld and art historian Helen Gardner, earning his BFA. He returned to Oklahoma and later relocated to Lindsborg, Kansas, in 1945, where he married fellow artist Ramona Weddle. He succeeded Birger Sandzen as painting instructor at Bethany College in 1946. He was something of a multimedia virtuoso, skilled in painting, printmaking, ceramics, woodcarving, metalwork, stitchery, mosaics, furniture design, jewelry and toys.
Overall framed size measures 7 x 24.75 inches.
Very good original untouched condition. There are no issues of major scratches, losses, repairs, in-painting or touch-up. There are three very small specks of unidentified color on the surface.
