Jeff Legg was born in Joplin, Missouri. By age 12, he was apprenticed to a regional college art professor, Darral Dishman which laid the foundation for his drawing and painting skills. He later attended the Minneapolis College of Art and Design and has since earned national recognition as a Master Signature Member of the Oil Painters of America where he has earned a number of Gold and Silver Medals in OPA regional competitions. His work has been featured on the covers of Southwest Art and Art of the West and in major art publications including The Artists Magazine, American Art Collector, and Fine Art Connoisseur, among others.

An exhibition of Jeff Legg's work titled Alchemy of Light & Shadow is open in Joplin, Missouri now through October 25.
