216: A MODERNIST WORK DATED 1943 ATTRIBUTED LELIA FLOOD

A watercolor of unique style and representation, this work is signed 'Flood' lower right and dated Feb. 1943. In her exhaustive tome on Kansas artists, Kansas University librarian Susan Craig lists a woman artist named Lelia Flood who can be found in Kansas City directories from 1906 to at least 1942. This work is attributed to that artist and is displayed with a sight size of 9 x 12 inches and a framed overall size of 17 x 19.75 inches.
