128: JOHN CHARLES MORRIS (1851-1888) OIL ON CANVAS

A 19th century oil on canvas depicting Highland sheep with shepherd, signed lower left front in red pigment, titled verso by a label of the period verso 'No. 1 A Quiet Port(?) on the Mountain'. The canvas measures 35 x 71 inches and the frame 42 x 88 inches.
Very good condition. Examination under UV light reveals minor touch-up across the top along the crease created by the stretcher, a 7-inch repair upper right corner and 1 x 2 inch touch-up lower left. No losses or issues, no other damage or repair.
