139: A PAIR LATE 20TH C. FRENCH EMPIRE BEDSIDE TABLES

Rectangular peach marble top with projecting rounded corners, over frieze with mahogany and mahogany veneers and fitted with single drawer with gilt metal mounts, circular stop fluted supports joined by parquet-inlaid undertier, and raised on conforming tapering leg with cabled fluting and brass toupie feet. Each measure 31.5 x 16.25 x 13.5 inches. This lot was originally offered without reserve in our July 8, 2016 auction. The buyer, a Manhattan auction house owner and television show furniture appraiser, never paid for his purchases. As a result, this property from the Joseph Candioto Trust is being offered again without reserve.
