143: A CONTINENTAL PORCELAIN URN FASHIONED AS TABLE LAMP

A good 19th century bolted urn of white porcelain with gold neck and acanthus drops above two gilt porcelain mythological beast heads on a band of laurel encircling the shoulder over swags of grapes draped from lion masks against the white porcelain ground covered with gold patterning. The lamp base measures 17.5 x 8.5 inches, 27 inches to the finial. This lot was originally offered without reserve in our July 8, 2016 auction. The buyer, a Manhattan auction house owner and television show furniture appraiser, never paid for his purchases. As a result, this property from the Joseph Candioto Trust is being offered again without reserve.
Very good, noting some residue near the joining of the base and body as well as minor roughness in that same area on the top edge of the base. A wood base has been added.
