Estate of Morton and Estelle Sosland
December 4th 2021
In Kansas City, the Sosland family name is synonymous with both giving and the arts. Their 60-year legacy of patronage and connoisseurship stands out in our town like a two ton shuttlecock. Now, even though many of their favorite items have been gifted or bequeathed, there are still more than 400 interesting lots from a lifetime of collecting to be sold at auction.
Georgia and her husband Jack founded Kansas City's American Legacy Gallery in 1979 where they established themselves as a Midwest leader in the curation of fine American Prints and Paintings. Through four decades they represented many living artists as well as the estates of historical artists like Birger Sandzen. With their insistence on quality and condition, along with their penchant for integrity and mentorship, they quietly became a regional institution with clients following them from around the United States.
With Jack's passing, we will offer their personal collection from the walls of their home, every wall, floor to ceiling, in this final auction session.
