Jan Weiner's award-winning Dallas interior design firm began advising clients on fine art acquisitions in the 1960s. By the late 70s she was hanging one-man shows and group exhibitions on the walls of her Topeka home, and the rest - as they say - is history. In the 30 years that followed Jan represented more than a hundred contemporary artists of local, regional and national reputation through her galleries in Topeka and Kansas City. Along the way, she amassed a huge archive of correspondence and mementos from the artists she served and grew close to, while also building a formidable collection of their paintings, prints, mixed media and studio ceramics.
